You will be able to choose two of the following four classes to attend: Making Home a Spiritual Haven from the World , Protecting Family Against Pornography, Dealing with Stress in Difficult Times, and Living Frugally/Menu Planning.

Accidentally, incorrect show times were announced, as they were correct at the time, but NOW, due to an extension in the amount of time each ward has to perform, a change in start time was necessary! Thanks for understanding!

"A DANCE TO REMEMBER" by the Lincoln 5th Ward

The Lincoln 5th ward road show is loosely based on 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, set in the times of the Book of Mormon. We have seven Nephite warriors who come home to find everyone gathered at the Temple for King Benjamin's address. Our seven righteous women are eager to see the RWs (Returned Warriors!) and hope there will be a dance! Before the dance, the parents of many of these warriors want to have a fireside to hear about the experiences of our young warriors. It's declared they will do just that! They will talk to us about the Armor of God and it's importance. They also will testify of fortifying ourselves from the evils of the world through temple attendance. The next morning, the young eyes of the group notice all the matchmaking and who likes who! And that evening, they do hold a dance in celebration of the warriors safe return. Love sparks, and matches are made!

Our cast boasts strong fictional characters such as Daniel and Delilah, who have a "musical" way of talking, Chemish and Calisa who hold down a more western feel, a spin off of Twilight with Edward and Bella, and our ever truly in love couple---Benjamin and Elizabeth! We even have a superb DJ! There are also some rather funny moments, and a really awesome "actress" who I can't reveal or it would ruin it! We have some very talented dancers, and a few comical moments that you just shouldn't miss!

Musical numbers include Ice Ice Baby, Taylor Swift, YMCA, and many more!

Today our lesson was on "The Sacrament."

We do not need to be perfect before partaking of the sacrament, but we must have the spirit of repentance in our hearts. The attitude with which we partake of the sacrament influences our experience with it. If we partake of the sacrament with a pure heart, we receive the promised blessings of the Lord. Today we had a great lesson on "Gifts of the Spirit." Thanks to Sister Lisa B. for her time and preparation!

How can we seek...earnestly the best gifts"? (D&C 46:8).
The Lord has said: "For all have not every gift given unto them; for there are many gifts, and to every man is given a gift by the Spirit of God. To some is given one, and to some is given another, that all may be profited thereby" (D&C 46:11-12).
To develop our gifts, we must find out which gifts we have. We do this by praying and fasting. We should seek after the best gifts (see D&C 46:8). Sometimes patriarchal blessings will help us know which gifts we have been given.
We must be obedient and faithful to be given our gifts. We then should use these gifts to do the work of the Lord. They are not given to satisfy our curiosity or to prove anything to us because we lack faith. Of spiritual gifts, the Lord said, "They are given for the benefit of those who love me and keep my commandments, and him that seeketh so to do" (D&C 46:9)

*Elder Clark, the Stake President, and the Bishop have all asked us to make sure every member is visited in the months of November and December! Lets do our part as sisters and get our visiting teaching done!

"Finding Christ"

Did the shepherds procrastinate their search for Jesus? The record affirms that they said one to another, 'Let us now go even unto Bethlehem....and they came with haste.' Luke 2:15-16
Before we can successfully undertake a personal search for Jesus, we must first prepare time for Him in our lives and room for Him in our hearts. In these busy days there are many who have time for golf, time for shopping, time for work, time for play-but no time for Christ....This is the Jesus whom we seek. This our brother whom we love. ~ The Young Women in our ward have offered to watch our kids while we go Christmas shopping! They will provide a nursery at the church on Tuesday December 7th from 6-8pm.

~The Ward Christmas Party is Saturday, December 11th @ 5:00pm at the church. Dinner will be served, please bring a desert to share. If you have a Nativity scene that can be used as a center piece for the party, please take it to sister Macy S.'s house by Friday. It will be a fun evening!

Thanks to Sister Kambria R. for her wonderful lesson today on making our home a refuge from the world. She talked about the importance of making our home a safe place for our children where they can feel the spirit and feel safe and loved.

Thanks to Sister Tricia C. for her lesson today on Baptism/The Holy Ghost! It was a great lesson!

The prophet Alma taught that faith and repentance are steps that prepare us for baptism. He taught that when we are baptized we make a covenant with the Lord. We promise to do certain things, God promises to bless us in return. Alma explained that we must want to be called the people of God. We must be willing to help and comfort each other. We must stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things and in all places. As we do these things and are baptized, God will forgive our sins. Alma told the people who believed his teachings about the gospel: "Behold, here are the waters of Mormon....And now, as ye are desirous to come into the fold of God, and to be called his people, ...what have you against being baptized in the name of the Lord, as a witness before him that ye have entered into a covenant with him, that ye will serve him and keep his commandments, that he may pour out his Spirit more abundantly upon you?" (Mosiah 18:8). The people clapped their hands for joy and said it was their desire to be baptized. Alma baptized them in the Waters of Mormon. Alma taught that when we are baptized we make covenants with the Lord to:

1. Come into the fold of God.
2. Bear one another's burdens.
3. Stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all places.
4. Serve God and keep His commandments.

When we are baptized and keep the covenants of baptism, the Lord promises to:

1. Forgive our sins (See Acts 2:38, D&C 49:13).
2. Pour out His Spirit more abundantly upon us (see Mosiah 18:10).
3. Give us daily guidance and the help of the Holy Ghost (see Acts 2:38, D&C 20:77).
4. Let us come forth in the First Resurrection (see Mosiah 18:9).
5. Give us eternal life (see Mosiah 18:9).

Today our lesson was given by Sister Pam O. and it was on repentance. Thanks to Pam for the time and effort she put into her lesson!

Faith in Jesus Christ naturally leads to repentance. There has been the need for repentance in the world from the time of Adam to the present day. The Lord instructed Adam, "Wherefore teach it unto your children, that all men, everywhere, must repent, or they can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God, for no unclean thing can dwell in his presence" (Moses 6:57)
We come to earth for the purpose of growing and progressing. This is a lifelong process. During this time we all sin (see Romans 3:23). We all have need to repent. Sometimes we sin because of ignorance, sometimes because of our weakness, and sometimes because of willful disobedience. In the Bible we read that "there is not a just man upon the earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not" (Ecclesiastes 7:20) and that "if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us" (1 John 1:8).
The prophets have declared that "this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God" (Alma 34:32). We should repent now, every day. When we get up in the morning, we should examine ourselves to see whether the Spirit of God is with us. At night before we go to sleep, we should review our acts and words of the day and ask the Lord to help us recognize the things for which we need to repent. By repenting every day and having the Lord forgive our sins, we will experience the daily process of becoming perfect. As with Alma, our happiness and joy can be sweet and exquisite.

Today we had a combined lesson with the priesthood and were privileged to hear from our bishopric. They counseled us on temple attendance, focusing on the basics of the gospel, and doing our visiting and home teaching.
"Temples are the very center of the spiritual strength of the Church. We should expect that the adversary will try to interfere with us as a Church and with us individually as we seek to participate in this sacred and inspired work. Temple work brings so much resistance because it is the source of so much spiritual power to the Latter-day Saints and to the entire Church."

Our Heavenly Father has counseled us to seek after "anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy." Whatever you read, listen to, or watch makes an impression on you. Don't be afraid to walk out of a movie, turn off a television set, or change a radio station if what's being presented does not meet your Heavenly Father's standards. In short, if you have any question about whether a particular movie, book, or other form of entertainment is appropriate, don't see it, don't read it, don't participate.
If any has stumbled in his journey, there is a way back. The process is called repentance. Our Savior died to provide you and me that blessed gift. Though the path is difficult, the promise is real: "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow."
Don't put your eternal life at risk. Keep the commandments of God. If you have sinned, the sooner you begin to make your way back, the sooner you will find the sweet peace and joy that come with the miracle of forgiveness. Happiness comes from living the way the Lord wants you to live and from service to God and others.

Today our lesson was on "Faith in Jesus Christ." Thanks to Sister Tricia C. for a great job with the lesson!

President Spencer W. Kimball explained: "There must be works with faith. How foolish it would be to ask the Lord to give us knowledge, but how wise to ask the Lord's help to acquire knowledge, to study constructively, to think clearly, and to retain things that we have learned" (Faith Precedes the Miracle, p. 205)
Faith involves doing all we can to bring about the things we hope and pray for. President Kimball said; "In faith we plant the seed, and soon we see the miracle of the blossoming. Men have often misunderstood and have reversed the process." He continued by explaining that many of us want to have health and strength without keeping the health laws. We want to have prosperity without paying our tithes. We want to be close to the Lord but don't want to fast and pray. We want to have rain in due season and to have peace in the land without observing the Sabbath as a holy day and without keeping the other commandments of the Lord. (See Faith Precedes the Miracles, p. 4)
An important way to increase our faith is to hear and study the word of the Lord. We hear the word of the Lord at our Church meetings. We can study his word in the scriptures. "And as all have not faith, seek ye diligently and teach one another words of wisdom; yea, seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith."

~This Thursday October 21st we are having a Girl's Night at the Temple! We will be attending the 7:00 pm session.

~The toy swap is just around the corner! It will be November 18th. Gather up your books, toys, and games that your children no longer play with and take them to Sister Rian C.'s house. Today we had a wonderful lesson given by Sister Gina L. It was on "The Church of Jesus Christ Today."

Since its restoration in 1830, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has grown rapidly in membership. There are members in nearly every country in the world. The Church will continue to grow. As Christ said, "This Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world, for a witness unto all nations" (Joseph Smith-Matthew 1:31). The Church will never again be taken from the earth. Its mission is to take the truth to every person. Thousands of years ago, the Lord said He would "set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people,...and it shall stand forever" (Daniel 2:44).
How have you helped in the work of the kingdom of God? What can you do to continue this work?

*On October 14th we will be having a class on how to make hair bows and ties! It will be at the church in the young women's room @ 7:00 pm. The ribbon and material will be provided for the bows or bring your own if you would like. Bring an old tie that can be cut up or there will be a few there to choose from.

Today we had a great lesson given by Sister Pam O. It was on "The Lord's Covenant People."

Gospel Principles chapter 15

The fulness of the gospel is called the new and everlasting covenant. It includes the covenants made at baptism, during the sacrament, in the temple, and at any other time. The Lord calls it everlasting because it is ordained by an everlasting God and because the covenant will never be changed. He gave this same covenant to Adam, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, and other prophets. In this sense it is not new. But the Lord calls it new because each time the gospel is restored after being taken from the earth, it is new to the people who receive it (see Jeremiah 31:31-34; Ezekiel 37:26).
When we accept the new and everlasting covenant, we agree to repent, be baptized, receive the Holy Ghost, receive our endowments, receive the covenant of marriage in the temple, and follow and obey Christ to the end of our lives. As we keep our covenants, our Heavenly Father promises us that we will receive exaltation in the celestial kingdom (see D&C 132:20-24; see also chapter 47 in this book).
The greatness of that promise is hard for mortals to understand. The commandments He gives are for our benefit, and as we are faithful we may forever share the blessings and beauties of heaven and earth. We may live in His presence and partake of His love, compassion, power, greatness, knowledge, wisdom, glory, and dominions.

Today we had a great combined lesson with the priesthood for the fifth Sunday. We were taught by Brother Del M., Sister Amy M., and Brother Kyle L. They all talked about talents. We need to help our children find their talents and build on them. It is important that we build on the talents and gifts God gave us. We all have a special gift. Once we find our talents and build on them we need to share them with others and not hide them.

D&C 60:2

"But with some I am not well pleased, for they will not open their mouths, but they hide the talents which I have given unto them, because of the fear of man. Wo unto such, for mine anger is kindled against them."

Gospel Principles chapter 14

The Priesthood is on the Earth Today

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is governed by the priesthood. The priesthood, which is always associated with God's work, "continueth in the church of God in all generations, and is without beginning of days and end of years" (D&C 84:17). It is upon the earth today. Men young and old are baptized into the Church, and when they are judged worthy they are ordained to the priesthood. They are given the authority to act for the Lord and do His work on the earth.
Keys of the Priesthood
There is a difference between being ordained to an office in the priesthood and receiving keys of the priesthood. President Joseph F. Smith taught: "The Priesthood in general is the authority given to man to act for God. Every man ordained to any degree of the Priesthood has this authority delegated to him. "But it is necessary that every act performed under this authority shall be done at the proper time and place, in the proper way, and after the proper order. The power of directing these labors constitutes the keys of the Priesthood. In their fullness the keys are held by only one person at a time, the prophet holds the keys of that particular labor. Thus, the president of a temple, the president of a stake, the bishop of a ward, the president of a mission, the president of a quorum. But he holds the power of directing the official labors performed in the...quorum, or in other words, the keys of that division of that work." (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph F. Smith [1998], 141; italics in original).

Component Number One: Reading and Talking about The Book of Mormon
The Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the Savior's gospel and is the only book the Lord Himself has testified to be true. Indeed, The Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion. The convincing and converting powers of The Book of Mormon come from both a central focus upon the Lord Jesus Christ and the inspired plainness and clarity of its teachings. Nephi declared, "My soul delighteth in plainness unto my people, that they may learn."
Component Number Two: Bearing Testimony Spontaneously
Parents should be vigilant and spiritually attentive to spontaneously occurring opportunities to bear testimony to their children. Such occasions need not be programmed, scheduled, or scripted. In fact, the less regimented such testimony sharing is, the greater the likelihood for edification and lasting impact. "Neither take ye thought beforehand what ye shall say; but treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man" (D&C 84:85)
Component Number Three: Inviting Children to Act
As gospel learners, we should be "doers of the word, and not hearers only" (James 1:22). Our hearts are opened to the influence of the Holy Ghost as we properly exercise agency and act in accordance with correct principles-and we thereby invite His teaching and testifying power. Parents have the sacred responsibility to help children to act and to seek learning by faith. And a child is never too young to take part in this pattern of learning.

-The Relief Society Garden Party is August 19th @7pm at the church. See the sign-up sheet for ways you can help. There will be light refreshments. Clothing attire can include your garden hat, sundress, bonnet, overalls, to just a T-shirt and jeans. It will be a great night!

We had a great lesson today on "The Priesthood" given by Sister Pam O.

Gospel Principles Chapter 13

The Lord has promised great blessings to righteous priesthood holders who use the priesthood to bless others: "Then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God; and the doctrine of the priesthood shall distil upon thy soul as the dews from heaven.

"The Holy Ghost shall be thy constant companion, and thy scepter an unchanging scepter of righteousness and truth; and thy dominion shall be an everlasting dominion, and without compulsory means it shall flow unto thee forever and ever" (D&C 121:45-46).

President David O. McKay promised every man who uses the priesthood in righteousness that he "will find his life sweetened, his discernment sharpened to decide quickly between right and wrong, his feelings tender and compassionate, yet his spirit strong and valiant in defense of right; he will find the priesthood a never failing source of happiness-a well of living water springing up unto eternal life" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: David O. McKay [2003], 116).

Today we had a wonderful lesson on The Atonement from Sister Melissa G.

Gospel Principles Chapter 12

Jesus Christ "came into the world...to be crucified for the world, and to bear the sins of the world, and to sanctify the world, and to cleanse it from all unrighteousness; that through him all might be saved" (D&C 76:41-42). The great sacrifice he made to pay for our sins and overcome death is called the Atonement. It is the most important event that has ever occurred in the history of mankind: "For it is expedient that an atonement should be made; for according to the great plan of the Eternal God there must be an atonement made, or else all mankind must unavoidably perish;...yea, all are fallen and are lost, and must except it be through the atonement" (Alma 34:9).

There are many characteristics of people who have developed good judgment. I would offer four guides for developing such judgment in making important decisions.
First, put your own personal standards in alignment with the gospel of Jesus Christ. A person can never be a good judge without the gospel of Jesus Christ as a reference. The gospel has a long and successful record of guiding people to happiness. Some of the world's ideas leave mankind adrift to try to define their own standards.
Second, listen to the messages of the living prophet. How many poor financial judgments would have been avoided had we listened to the years of advice given through our prophets about avoiding risky speculation and following a careful budget to avoid consumer dept? How many marriages would have been saved by using good judgment in avoiding media that lead to pornographic addiction and heartache?
Third, cultivate with the Holy Spirit a relationship of listening. We are given the gift of the Holy Ghost after out baptism, but often we leave this gift on the shelf, forgetting that He will help us in the most important judgements of our lives. The Lord gave us this gift, knowing we would face difficult decisions in life. Listening to this voice is vital in developing good judgment. A relationship of listening often requires a quiet environment in which we can take time to ponder and hear the still, small voice. This peaceful environment is both external and internal. Therefore, it is more than shutting off the music of the world or the blare of other media; it is also shutting off the noise of sin that is internal to our soul. This will open the communication with the Spirit, which is so badly needed.
Fourth, keep the commandments. The willingness to keep God's commandments opens to us many promised blessings. The Book of Mormon, in addition to being another testament of Jesus Christ, is a book about the results of keeping and not keeping commandments. The Lord said to Nephi in the second chapter of his first book, "Inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper."

His Sacrifice showed His Love for His Father and for Us

Jesus taught: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you" (John 15:13-14). He willingly and humbly went through the sorrow in Gethsemane and the suffering on the cross so we could receive all blessings of the plan of salvation. To receive these blessings, we must come unto Him, repent of our sins, and love Him with all our hearts. He said: "And this is the gospel which I have given unto you-that I came into the world to do the will of my Father, because my Father sent me. "And my Father sent me that I might be lifted up upon the cross; and after that I had been lifted upon the cross, that I might draw all men unto me....that they may be judged according to their works..."For the works which ye have seen me do that shall ye also do...."Therefore, what manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am" (3 Nephi 27:13-15, 21, 27; italics added).

Today we had a combined lesson with the priesthood for the 5th sunday. Brother R. Johns talked to us about "communication skills" and "loving yourself."

Here are some tips he gave us about strengthening an individual by encouragement:
1. A good listener holds the individual accountable to develop his own plan for success. Standards that are too high invite failure and discouragement.
2. Praise is reserved for things well done. It implies a spirit of competition. Encouragement is given for effort or improvement. It implies a spirit of cooperation.
3. Encouragement is the process of focusing on the individual assets and strengths in order to build self-confidence and feelings of worth.
4. Recognize improvement and effort, not just accomplishment. Thank them for their time, effort, and struggle.

-This Thursday June 3rd is recipe swap! The theme is "summer picnic" and Stephanie C. is our host. Hope to see you there!

-June 12th is the Stake Self Reliance Fair from 10-12. There are a lot of great classes to attend. Take advantage of this great opportunity!

Our hands can comfort. With this in mind, let our hearts and hands be stretched out in compassion toward others, for everyone is walking his or her own difficult path. As disciples of Jesus Christ, our Master, we are called to support and heal rather than condemn. We are commanded "to mourn with those that mourn" and "comfort those that stand in need of comfort."
It is unworthy of us as Christians to think that those who suffer deserve their suffering. Easter Sunday is a good day to remember that our Savior willingly took upon Himself the pain and sickness and suffering of us all-even those of us who appear to deserve our suffering.
In the book of Proverbs we read that "a friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." Let us love at all times. And let us especially be there for our brothers and sisters during times of adversity.

-June 3rd is Recipe Swap @7pm. The theme is summer picnic. Stephanie will be our hostess. Be thinking of your favorite foods for a picnic!

-There will be a Stake Relief Society Reliance Fair on Saturday June 12 from 10-12. There will be a lot of great classes to choose from! There will be first aid, teaching children to be self reliant, estate planning, funeral preplanning, employment, food storage/dry pack canning, gardening, budgeting, family and personal scripture study, and emergency preparedness. Each sister can choose three classes to attend.

Praying to Our Heavenly Father.

"Our sincere prayers are always answered. Sometimes the answer may be no, because what we have asked for would not be best for us. Sometimes the answer is yes, and we have a warm, comfortable feeling about what we should do (see D&C 9:8-9). Sometimes the answer is "wait a while". Our prayers are always answered at a time and in a way that the Lord knows will help us the most.

Sometimes the Lord answers our prayers through other people. A good friend, a husband or wife, a parent or other family member, a church leader or a missionary- any of these individuals may be inspired to perform acts that will answer our prayers.

As we live the gospel of Jesus Christ and pray always, we will have joy and happiness. "Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers" (D&C 112:10)"

Regional Youth Fireside- Sister Elaine D. General Young Women President is coming for a fireside for area young men and young women ages 14 to 18, and their leaders. Super Savers Seminar Fireside will be held at 7:00 pm January 27th at the Lincoln Building. This fireside is to ask/answer questions about the Financial Peace University. If you think you might be interested in participating in the FPU, then this preparation fireside is a must! Our Stake will be offering the Financial Peace University (by Dave Ramsey) coming up the first week of February. This is a 13 week course in which you can sign up and participate in to gain financial freedom.

Recipe Swap will be February 4th at 7:00pm at Sister Amy S. home with a salad theme.

Super Saturday will be on February 20th from 9:00-4:00 at the church!!! Be sure to sign up for some fun projects. There are also some free projects and yummy lunch. Make sure to mark your calendars and come check it out! Here are finally pictures of the cute projects available.

Like the early Saints, we can know that Joseph Smith is the prophet through whom the Lord restored the fullness of the gospel. Joseph Smith was an example we can follow in developing a Christlike character. Like the early saints, we can treasure up the words of Joseph Smith and live the principles he taught.

-The young women are collecting donations for the animal shelter now through Oct. 20th. They are in need of cat litter, cat food, dog food, leashes, toys, pet beds, even animal-related movies for their waiting room. -Scouting for food is Saturday, Oct. 24th. Please leave any food you would like to donate outside your front door.

We hope you enjoyed ward conference! We appreciate those who participated in the program and are grateful for our ward and stake leaders who were there with messages for us.

This week is quiet! School is on the verge and summer is wrapping up, boo.

Ward Party--Iron Chef Cookoff-- is Saturday, August 15th. At the church at 6pm.

Girls Night Out Social will be August 20th at 7pm. There will be food, visiting, door prizes and a chance to get our Visiting Teaching Interviews done. Don't miss out!

First Day of School, Monday August 24. Elementary School starts at 8:15 now, not 8:40! Don't be late!

Tuesday August 4th

Play group- meet at the church @ 11:15 a caravan will leave from the church @ 11:30 to head to Gina's Dads Dairy farm. Bring a sack lunch if you want to picnic. Also bring swim clothes for the little ones if you want them to play in the water. Old clothes are best for the farm as they will get dirty. If you have any questions contact Gina L.

Ward Temple Night- Meet in the chapel at 7:15 for council from the Bishop and then we will be going to the 8:00 PM session.

Thursday August 6th

Food Storage Class- Meet at the church at 7 pm. Garden Maintenance. Nursery provided.

Friday and Saturday 7th and 8th

Father and Sons Camp out- Kelly's Island campground just past Heise Hot Springs.

My apologies that this is late in posting. Vacation time took me away from the computer. As I would suspect that many of you have had happen too! Yeah summer va-cay!

Well, playgroup was yesterday, at Iona park. It's there every Tuesday at 10:30 am except for August 4th. Playgroup will be out at Pack Dairy farm at 11:30. Please note the time change. Bring a sack lunch if you would like to picnic! We will get to see some cows being milked at noon. For directions, call Gina! or email lincoln5th@gmail.com!

Our Gardening Maintenance class is Thursday, August 6th, at 7 pm!

We are having a ward party August 15th--The Iron Chef Cookoff! See the sign up sheets!

And now for a very importance announcement . . .

WARD TEMPLE NIGHT is Tuesday, August 4th as well. Please arrange your schedule that you can join us for specific instruction in our ward chapel session which will start at 7:15 and we will go into the 8 pm session. (I am assuming, there will be no mutual that night. I am not sure about that, but that has been the usual thing in the past.)

This is in preparation for our ward conference, Sunday August 9th. Even if you are going to be out of town that weekend, we invited you to still join us for the temple night. Our bishop, the temple presidency, and stake leadership have specific messages for us at ward temple night and ward conference.

Playgroup is every Tuesday, at Iona Park, at 10:30 am! But mark your calendar for Tuesday, August 4th as we will not go to Iona Park and instead hit up a local dairy farm...more details to come!

Saturday, July 25th is the Stake Pioneer Celebration at 6 pm!! It will be at the Virlow Building. Last names beginning with the letters A-M, please bring a salad. N-Z names please bring a dessert!

Our next Preparedness Class is Maintenance for Your Garden August 1st.

Ward Par-Tay! Yes, a ward party is scheduled for Saturday, April 15th, where we will have an Iron Chef Contest! Contestants will receive the secret ingredient that afternoon, have a few hours to whip up something tasty, and then that evening we will eat and visit, while the judges determine a winner!

Also of note, Sisters we once again encourage and invite you to participate in our focus groups and Enrichment activities. It is here in these get togethers that we are able to befriend each other, and get to know those around us. Regardless of whther you are new to our ward, or a long time standing member of the Lincoln 5th ward, please join us. The turn out can always be better. We need you. We want you, and we love you. You are an important person in our ward! Focus groups: Recipe Swap (which will reconviene in Sept.) Playgroup (Every Tuesday), Girls Night Out (Monthly, Third Thursday) are available to each of you!

Shop in STYLE! Girls night out will be a clothing swap on Thursday, July 16th! Sorry that I have miss printed it twice in the bulletin! Drop of your children's and women's clothing to Amy Savage so that she can sort it by size before Thursday! If not, please bring your clothes presorted to the church and shopping will begin at 7 pm!

Playgroup is going strong! It's every Tuesday at 10:30 am at Iona Park!

Saturday July 25th @ 6pm is the Stake Pioneer Celbration! We will have the chance to welcome home our Trekkers as they will leterally be walking home, on to the paved parking lot and trimmed lawns at the Virlow building that evening...home just in time to eat with us! The Old Time Fiddlers will be entertaining us, and there are great games for the kids to play...bring a blanket or lawn chairs if you would like!

The Saints are commanded by God to build temples. In the temple we learn the things of eternity and receive ordinances of salvation for ourselves and our ancestors. The temple is a place of holiness where we receive the greatest blessings God has for His children.

Ah, summer. It's finally showing up! Hope everyone had a nice Holiday weekend celebrating the 4th of July.

Mark your calendars for this Saturday, July 11th for the next Preparedness Class. It's on First Aide Storage, at 10 am at the church! Nursery available.

Playgroup is every Tuesday, at 10:30am at Iona Park, weather permitting!

Also coming up is our Girls Night Out where we will have a clothing swap. This is going to be on Thursday, July 16th, (not Wednesday as I typed in the bulletin. Sorry 'bout that!) Sort though your kids' clothes and get them to Amy S. on Magenta, so that she can get them in to sizes and categories. Then come that night, and take what you need.

Girls Camp is this week and the Trek is around the corner! Hope all involved are ready and have a great time!
